Easter is so close, and so fun! It’s a time of new beginnings, bright colors, yummy candies, and a time when families come together to celebrate. There are so many easter activities you can compile to engage the entire family.

Do you have any fun activities that you do each year to prepare for Easter?

Whether you do or don’t, we have some activities you might be interested in.

Lolo’s Little Darlins Daycare, a daycare and preschool in Rigby, helped us put this list of fun Easter activities you can do with your little ones.

Color Easter Eggs

This activity is a pretty traditional one. But it can be so much fun. Now, there are so many fun and vibrant colors that are available to dye our easter eggs, from hot pink to neon yellow.

They are so many ways to decorate and color easter eggs too. If you prefer organic materials, you can use beets, leaves, and cabbage to color your eggs. If you want an activity with immediate results, try coloring the eggs with pastry markers or paint. Stickers and fun decorations like googly eyes are always great to add to your eggs too. The kids will have so much fun letting their creativity shine with this activity.

Visit Baby Animals

Easter is a time of new beginnings, new life. Let your children experience that by showing them new life. Visit an animal shelter, a pet store, or a farm to see baby animals like chicks, ducklings, kittens, bunnies, and more.

Children love baby animals. This could turn into a fun tradition that gets them excited each year for Easter by showing them a little bit of what the holiday is all about.

Decorate Cookies

Kids love sweets, and they love to get creative. Make some egg and bunny shaped sugar cookies for your kids to decorate. Pull out different colored frostings, sprinkles and candies that they can put on their cookies.

Let the kids stay busy with the cookies and get some time for yourself or to prepare food for the guests you will have over for the holiday.

Easter Egg Hunt

This is another pretty standard Easter activity, but you can make it fun and unique too, especially if you have a range of ages of kids that will be participating.

One thing you can do with an Easter egg hunt is assign each kid a color of egg that they need to find. This way, the older kids can have more difficult eggs while leaving the easier eggs to find to the younger children.

Another thing you can do is have a grand prize hidden in an easter egg. Maybe you have golden easter eggs that have money or a toy in them. Tell each child that they can only have one golden egg, but make these eggs more difficult to find then the rest.

There are so many fun things you can do with an Easter egg hunt. Get on Pinterest or use your own creativity to come up with some fun ideas for your kids.

Easter is an opportunity for friends and family to gather together and enjoy one another’s company. Take advantage of that, and use this fun holiday to spend a little extra time bonding with your family with some of these fun activities.
